The default roles reflect how schools actually divide this work, and two boundaries matter more than the rest.
- Teachers see their own classes. They do not see fee balances, because a register is not the place to discover a family is in arrears.
- The bursar sees fees and payments and cannot change marks.
- The head sees everything and approves fee write-offs and mark changes.
- Every change to a mark or a fee is recorded with who and when.
