Asolen has two connected jobs: it turns a teacher’s syllabus into practical, real-world lesson and project ideas, and it reads and marks the work students submit, using OCR built around each student’s own handwriting. Nothing reaches a class and nothing counts as a mark until a teacher has approved it.

What Asolen AI costs.

Asolen is an add-on to ASOFT ERP rather than a separate subscription, so it is quoted with the school system it runs alongside. Priced on how many students it covers and how many subjects it is set up for, across both lesson generation and marking. Where it has to run somewhere specific — a private region, or your own server — that changes the number and we will say by how much before you commit.

Built from your syllabus
Every activity starts from the syllabus or curriculum outline a teacher actually uploads, not a generic template for the subject.
A real scenario, not a demonstration
Projects are built around an actual problem — in agriculture, business, health, the environment or technology — with a usable outcome, not a model that exists only to be marked.
Team roles assigned
Group work comes with roles already organised — project lead, researcher, designer, builder, tester, presenter — the way a real team is structured.
Sized to the class you actually have
Every activity is checked against classroom time, resource availability and workload before it is proposed, rather than asking for equipment or hours a school does not have.
Gets better from what teachers report
Feedback on whether an activity actually worked shapes what gets generated next time for that subject.

Marking

Reads each student’s own handwriting
Recognition is built around a personal handwriting profile per student — letter formation, spacing, slant — that improves the more of their work it sees.
Reads diagrams as well as text
Flowcharts, maps, geometric drawings, circuits and labelled diagrams are read and marked alongside written answers, not skipped.
Marked against a rubric or answer key
Every mark comes from the specific answer key or marking scheme for that exercise — not a general judgement of whether the work looks right.
Partial credit on working shown
Marks the method as well as the final answer, where the rubric allows it, the same way a teacher would.
Held for review below a confidence threshold
Anything it is not confident about — unclear handwriting, an answer the rubric does not cover — is queued for a teacher rather than marked anyway.

IMPLEMENTATION

Ten working days, and most of it is proving both halves before they go live.

Generating a lesson and reading a submission are both quick. The valuable part is checking each against what a teacher would have done anyway, before either is trusted unsupervised.

  1. DAYS 1–2

    Pick the pilot

    One subject and one form: a topic for lesson generation, and an exercise type for marking. Neither is switched on for the whole school at once.

  2. DAYS 3–4

    Load the syllabus and set the rubrics

    The syllabus for lesson generation and the answer keys for marking, entered and approved by the teacher who owns that subject.

  3. DAYS 5–6

    Test against what already exists

    Generated lessons are checked against what the teacher would have planned; marking is run against books they have already marked. Both are compared before anything live is touched.

  4. DAYS 7–8

    Run alongside the teacher

    Live lessons are generated and live submissions are marked, and the teacher reviews every one of both before they count.

  5. DAYS 9–10

    Roll out

    Automatic use goes live for that subject once overrides and rewrites drop to an agreed level, then the next subject follows the same steps.

Nothing is used with a live class — generated or marked — until a teacher has checked it against what they would have done themselves. That comparison is the pilot, not a formality.

QUESTIONS

The questions a head asks before letting AI near a lesson or a mark.

Does it replace a teacher’s lesson planning?

No. It proposes a lesson or project from the syllabus; the teacher edits it, rejects it, or runs it as given. Nothing reaches a class without that step.

Does it replace the teacher’s mark?

No. Every mark it gives can be overridden, and during the pilot every mark is checked before it counts. Once a subject’s marking is proven against a teacher’s own, on real books, you decide whether it goes straight through or stays reviewed.

How accurate is the marking?

We do not have a published figure yet. That is exactly what the pilot measures — its marks against a teacher’s own, on the same submissions, side by side, before it is trusted with a live class.

What happens with handwriting it cannot read clearly?

It is read as far as it can be, and anything it is not confident about is held for the teacher rather than guessed. We would rather show you a held submission than a wrong mark.

Does it actually get better at reading a student’s handwriting, and how?

Yes. It builds a handwriting profile for each student — letter formation, spacing, slant — from what it has already seen of their work, and recognition for that student improves as it sees more of it.

Does generating lessons get better over time too?

Yes, by a different route: teacher and student feedback on whether an activity actually worked shapes what gets generated next for that subject. That is separate from how the marking improves.

Does our students’ work or syllabus train a model shared with other schools?

No. Both the lesson generation and the marking improve for your school, from your school’s own data. Neither is pooled with what other schools use.

Where is our data stored?

On managed Postgres infrastructure with daily backups, and we will tell you the exact region in writing before you sign. You can export everything at any time, in a standard format.

Can we start small?

Yes. Most clients start with one module or one site and add from there.

What happens if we stop working with you?

You keep your data and your licences per the contract. No hostage-taking.
