THE WORK
Why this role exists, and what it is.
Our delivery is currently limited by how many implementations two people can run at once, not by how much software we can write.
What you would be doing
- Running discovery sessions with finance offices, bursars and warehouse staff, and writing down what actually happens
- Configuring CheckERP or ASOFT ERP against that, including chart of accounts and document numbering
- Migrating and reconciling opening balances until they agree to the cent
- Training by role, on the client’s own data, and writing the guide they keep
- Being the named contact for your sites after go-live
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Two lists, and the second one is genuinely optional.
What you need
- Two years or more in accounting, bookkeeping or school administration — or in implementing software for people who do that work
- The ability to reconcile a trial balance and know why it does not balance
- Patience with people who are frightened of the new system, because most of them are
- A driver’s licence, and willingness to travel for a few days at a time
What helps but is not required
- Experience of an ERP implementation from either side
- Familiarity with fiscalisation requirements in practice
- Shona or Ndebele in addition to English
WHAT WE ARE HONEST ABOUT

- You will be on site, in other people’s offices, often at inconvenient hours during a cut-over.
- We are small. There is no implementation methodology team behind you — you help write the method.
- This is not a development role and will not become one by default.
